Well between litter training rupert, kahlua marking with pee and kokanee’s poopy bum-even  with daily cleaning my choroplast was looking yucky…So friday I removed it, sprayed it down with vinegar and then gave it a shower in my shower-looks like new!

        Cleaning tips anyone?

I have been trying to get that choroplast here, It will make my life a lot easier, unfortunatly it is really hard to find.
Its called corflute, corigated plastic sheeting and a few other names here.

i usually just clean it when the bunny is out & about.  i spray it liberally with vinegar water & then wipe off with a towel everyday or so (since it only takes a minute).  i have a collection of old towels reserved for the fur babies now.  lol.  if pee gets into the corrugated parts i do exactly what you did…  transfer to the tub, spray inside the holes with vinegar and then spray clean with the detachable shower head.  i loooove the choroplast.

oh i should mention… both of the rabbitats have a lower level litter box, so before i spray the main level i take the towel & dry-wipe any pellets or hay bits so they drop down into the litter box.

Lisa, can you round up any old yard or realtor signs made from it?

K & K funny you should mention cleaning, I just did that with the linoleum in my two’s abode. I use a diluted solution of vinegar in a spray bottle, squirt & wipe down with a paper towel. Since it is covered over, I do not worry about rinsing. That’s great you rinse K & K especially since the vinegar ph affects rabbit feet and can cause sore hocks if they are directly in conctact with it, even if it is dried on there.

I have put my hubby on to finding it, most signs here are made of tin. I will get it, just taking some time.

I have a pressure wash for cars that’s very handy for cleaning the chroplast. Just shoot it and I can get any yucky things out completely.

usually the vinegar really helps – glad you had such great results. i only wish we had our condo with a way to get to the back corner. my arm just won’t reach to the very back and it’s really stained.

i’m glad i read this scarlet… i didn’t realize!  i have an easy quick fix… i have squirt bottles with plain water in them for bunny discipline so now, after i spray & wipe clean the choroplast with vinegar water, i do a second spray with the plain water.  making sure to wipe it dry with a vinegar-free towel of course!

pinky’s enclosure has fake sheepskin covering the choroplast and baby only spends a couple of hours a day in her living room enclosure (in her bedroom she’s on the hardwood or area mat)… i guess thats why it hasn’t presented itself as a prob.  even still.. better safe than sorry

The stuff I use for flooring you might have more luck finding. I use the stuff that is for bathroom walls, like behind the tub. . . It comes in big sheets that are pretty easy to cut to sixe with a utility knife. . . I forget exactly what it is called but you should be able to find it at pretty much any hardware store. . . . I would guess you could just ask for the bathroom wallboard.

It works great for me and comes in pretty big sheets so you probably won’t have to buy many.
