Somewhere between 4 and 5 years. Poor Latte is hunched in a corner and unusually, doesn’t want lap time.
Choco wouldn’t eat his veg this morning, and hadn’t finished last nights either. A quick check to see what might be wrong showed a 2 cm lump under one of his nipples that wasn’t there a few days ago. Speedy and Grace both died due to mammary tumours, so I recognised it instantly and rang the vets the minute they opened. Unfortunately, the only apt they had was half an hour before they shut, so its been a long day. He spent most of the day in a nest in the hay, and by this afternoon, he was shuddering, and making whimpering little weeeeks. and he went to bite me when I picked him up. He’s never bitten before. I was fretting over every minute he had to wait to see the vets. From Speedy, I learnt the hard way how fast mammary tumours spread in a piggy, so I made the difficult choice to have Choco pts before he suffered much, same as I did with Grace. He went to the vets snug in his hay nest, cosy and well cushioned. The picture was taken maybe 2 hours before the end
Thankfully my eldest was home from uni for the weekend, and so he got to say goodbye, and came with me to the vets.
