to start most of the time my Puffmais (3 yr old jersey wooly) is nothing but a love bug, i rescued him last year where he was kept in horrid condtion with 4 other rabbits in one of those ‘standerd’ petsmart cages for 40$ so for awhile he was grooming stuffed animals and needing another bun compainon, witch i simply couldnt afford at the time.

its been a year but hes a real peice of work, will sit great with me for awhile before trying to flatten everything and bite/throw it. this is normal bun behavior i know, but gotta say buying a new sweatshirt every month isnt doing it for me.  he doesnt grunt, doesnt thump. my phone has chips in it, hes picked up sissors and flung it across the room, i mean he enjoys throwing it but is there any suggestions? even toys just perferably not wood, i tried that and he just really freaked out when he was given that, not in a good way.

just something he can throw around and get a kick out of thats not my phone or sissors.

also something that dawned on me is this only really started after a few months of me getting him. would another bunny (i may have to take one in from work) be something that would help? or not even try hes just going to maul the other one.  (he often trys to ‘throw’ my GF off the bed)

(some of his  handy work, tassles missing from pillows and 600+ holes on the blanket by him)

The baby keys in the baby department are great throw toys for rabbits!

Have you tried baby toys, like those plastic keys they have made for babies? Some bunnies love those. Or little cups they can throw, lids from jars, toilet paper rolls, those are favorites here.

Baby keys and baby rattles are good toys for rabbits who like to throw things. also Is your bun neutered? this kind of behavior can come from not being neutered. He would also have to be fixed before having a friend to avoid dangerous fights that come from hormones.

Only 3 pounds? Monkeybun has a 1 1/2 pound Netherland that was spayed. I would be weary of your vet for not wanting to do the procedure due to weight.

                    Have you tried willow balls/basket?

Even if one bun is altered the other one can have hormones that could cause a fight. you could try to look around for another vet that is more experienced with neutering. here i a good list of recommended rabbit vets, There should be at least one around were you are. Yes, weight should not keep an experienced rabbit vet from altering a rabbit. My Bobby is 2 pounds and he was altered even after having major dental problems and he’s doing great.

I agree with everyone about the baby toys but I have to add something. Dont buy the teething baby rings, the ones with soft rubber with different textures on them. Your bun may chew them and end up eating the rubber like mine did with hers. If you go to cheap little dollar stores or those creepy hole in the wall close-out stores, they usually have some all plastic toys. I just bought one for my girl from a place called Walls (closeout store). I also buy cat toys, mostly balls, that have bells in them. What about a wiffle ball? Those are light weight and have holes for the bun to grab on to. Small plastic containers, like the Glad version of tupperware, the tiny ones, you could even poke a few holes in it with a nail or dremel tool and toss some pellets in there so that when your bunny throws it, food falls out of the holes. You could really spoil your kiddo and get him his own cell phone if he is so dead set on throwing a phone (try to remove the rubber buttons before they are nibbled off).
As for chewing on clothes and such, all I can say to that is just keep things out of his reach or accept that they are going to have a bunny bedazzled effect. Huckleberry has put a hole in every single one of my boyfriend’s shirts which we discovered two days ago when he was getting ready for a job interview >X-o
He is absolutely adorable btw!!!! Give him some snuggles for me!

Once I had a locked combination padlock that I had forgotten the combination to, so I gave it to my bunny for a toy!

Yep, my Monkey is only 1.5 pounds and got spayed just fine, which is more invasive than a neuter. Smudge, my other girl, did just fine at 3ish pounds too.

I’d look for another vet that is more experienced with neuters
