I recently made a DIY rabbit condo using those metal wire shelving units and used coroplast as the base for the condo. Unfortunately, my bunny(Dango) hasn’t been chewing on the edges of the coroplast. I covered the edge up with black flex tube, but she’s even chewed through that. I’ve supplied her with lots of chew toys and given her plenty of time outside the condo to roam around and play.

Does anyone have any other solutions to dealing with the chewing? What other materials can I use to stop her from chewing?

I’m assuming you use the chloroplast to keep bedding in the cage. You might want to try an litter box train your bun so you can use fleece instead of loose bedding.

Bunnies like to chew on stuff that has resistance so the chloroplast is resistance as it is on the ground and she stands on it so she has a better grip to chew. Can you lay fleece or some other fabric ontop of it and wrap it around the sides? It may deter her. Have you tried willow sticks for her to chew?

I would use something more sturdy, where she can’t access the edge. I use plywood covered with a layer of vinyl tiles as my base. On the very base, the edges stick out past the walls, so they can’t get to an edge.

For the upper layers, same thing, but I cover with a layer of fleece for traction, and then give grass mats on top to get them a safe alternative.
