i got my rabbit (F, 1 yr old) spayed about three weeks ago and she has recently started chewing on the lip of her litter box. it is one of those cheap, large plastic litter boxes for cats. while she doesn’t seem to be ingesting the plastic, i’m worried that she will hurt herself on the rough/sharp edges that come from her chewing.

any ideas on how to remedy this? so far i’ve tried making a guard with paper towel rolls but she just finds a way to get it off.

        thanks!

My bun went through a phase of this!

Temporarily I clamped pieces of cardboard to the edge using really heavy duty alligator clamps from the hardware store.

I ended up getting a dish bussing tray that’s made of really heavy duty plastic (like the kind cutting boards are made of) and use that as a litter box now. He lost interest in chewing it, and even if he does nibble it’s so thick and strong it doesnt make sharp edges like the other kind.
