          Hi!

I can’t identify this piece of wood. I hope someone else can. There are some trees and shrubs that are poisonous, for example laburnum and oleander. Do you know what types of trees grow in those woods? What part of the world are you in?

Unfortunately, it’s hard to identify what type of wood that is unless you have photos of the tree it came from, its type of leaves, etc.? It’s also important to know if pesticide spraying is common or not in that area. I am no good at identifying wood based on photos unfortunately 🙁

I’m from italy, whatever i’ll leave the wood for later then….

I’m tryng to distract my bunny from the recent accident, it’s such a pain to see him like that… he got smacked in the eye by my cat (while i was asleep that asshole went all rambo)

Vet said he’s fine but he got his third EyeLid stickin out of his eye, got prescribed to apply Tobradex cream on his eye, but what about the eyelid will it fall on his own???

Sorry for going out of topic, but i made an earlier post that is still awaiting moderation, probably for the gory pics…. tho the situation is kinda urgent i need advices on what to do…

for now i’m doin as my vet said just Tobradex and keepin the eye clean

                Poor little bun!

Hopefully the cream will help the third eyelid heal, so it can function properly again. It has both tobramycin (for bacteria) and a corticosteroid  (for swelling and other inflammatory reactions). Rabbits are as a species sensitive to corticosteroids, but from what I can find, Tobradex has been tested on rabbits. Did you get any Meloxicam? (Painkiller).

Keeping it clean and applying the cream is pretty much what you can do for now. Keep a close eye, of course  and monitor appetite and poop. If the eye starts looking worse, or if he stops eating or pooping, obviously call the vet.

Fresh herbs could perhaps make him forget his injury a little bit?

I’ll buy Meloxicam if things get whorse and unbearable for him thnks,

So it will eventually go back as normal? he won’t have this eyelid deformity for life i mean…

yea haha of course i already gave him a wagon of vegetablrd and fruits, he ate the whole bunch!

Oh, yum! Very good that he has a healthy appetite!

I dont think this looks very bad tbh. Individuals have different healing capacities, so you will need to keep a close eye of course, and if it still looks bad after 5 days or if it gets worse, your vet may want to put him on oral antibiotics. But for now, I think you are giving him the appropriate treatment. Tobramycin eyedrops are ok for rabbits according to Medirabbit’s list of rabbit safe antibiotics:

PS: I am sorry, I made a bit of a mess with your topic about the eyelid. I posted the whole thing under my username here:

Yea i’ll keep an eye on him for now…
