Boston doesn’t go outside or anything, but I’m pretty sure I found a tick in my bathroom. Now i’m super paranoid and feel like I have ticks all over me!!!

How do I check Boston? Its almost impossible to see her skin!!

Maybe you could try brushing her to see if anything comes off in the brush? Hmm….that’s what I would try first

I would maybe run your hand over her in the opposite direction her fur goes, or try a flea comb like they use for dogs & cats.

I agree with oreosmommy about running your hands over her fur in the opposite direction. It will take a bit of time, but if you are very methodical about it, and take a good amount of time you will really be able to check a good amount of her body. Also, you could just increase the amount of time of your regular grooming sessions, I really think if there was a tick on your bunny you’d be able to feel it while brushing or petting your bunny. You’ll have to try a little harder in the harder to see areas – probably flip your bunny over and trance her to check the stomach really well.

Ticks can even get a ride into someone’s home by getting stuck to their shoes… but check Boston. The flea comb will pick it up, plus, *if* she has a tick, you will not miss it.. you can feel them as a hard bump once they attach themselves. Sending no-tick vibes!!!!!

Use your blowdrier on low and cool. It moves the hair very easily and you can check very thoroughly If you do find one-I’d leave it and take him to the vet. It’s hard to get them off-and if you have any tick transmitted diseases in your area (course I don’t know if bunnies are suceptable to them-lyme?) then you’d want to take the tick to get it tested anyways-might as well have the vet remove it

Hey Justina! Sorry to revive this old thread, but how are you and Boston doing? Was this issue ever resolved?
