I’ve never seen Archie chase his tail before and in the past few hours he’s started doing it a lot. I’ve tried seeing if something’s wrong, but I can’t get a look at his butt. I’ve tried picking him up with one hand under his hindquarters and the other holding him upright, but he’s too squirmy for me to actually see if anything’s wrong.

I’m thinking of giving him a butt bath (something I’ve never done before) just in case something got stuck to his bum and is irritating him, in the hopes that maybe it will wash off? I’ve never given him a butt bath though, so idk how to go about doing that.

If this persists I’m going to bring him to the vet, but I want to make sure it’s not just a piece of hay in his fur before taking him because money’s a bit tight.

He’s eating and pooping like normal.

Is he turning in circles always in the same direction? Or in either direction? Circling can be a symptom of an inner ear infection or E. Cuniculi, usually the bun will always turn the same direction in these circumstances.

Certainly check to see if he has anything irritating him back there that he may be trying to reach, but if there’s nothing a vet visit dinner is better because even with a diagnosis and treatment it can get worse before it gets better.

It’s in both directions, but I think it’s a thing of him trying to groom. He’s molting rn, and those areas by his hind legs are both shedding a lot atm, and I’m thinking he was trying to groom those areas. I brushed him for a while last night after I realized, and although he’s still doing it, it’s to a much lesser extent and he doesn’t seem frustrated anymore.
