I have gone off of this, thanks to the link on BB’s Rabbitat’s Gallery

        breyfamily.net/bunnycage.html

Here is my take. I still have a little work to do with it. Need binder clips and another package of zip ties to secure the top section better. Otherwise.. it is all done.

There is a plastic mat (it has small spikes on the bottom.. not big spikes, it grips the carpet) that is being covered by the bottom purple towel.

I chose 2 purple towels – purple is a royality color, and the other one is a teal towel, to honor my late mother and bunny’s late grandma and her battle with ovarian cancer. I think my mom would have adored little Chacha.

Anyways.. here is the price breakdown:

2 boxes of Neat Idea Cubes: $40
2 packs of zip ties: $5
Plywood: Free. I got a scrap from Lowes, with the help of a generous worker. He cut it for me for free and told me that I got the plywood from scrap pile.
4 Dowel Rods of 2 different sizes: $12
        3 Towels: $10

She is pretty mad at it and thinks that it is pretty darn ugly

I’ve lowered the dowel rods because she is super small and puts her paws on the rods thinking “How am I supposed to clear this?” I’ve lowered it twice and she is quite fine. I put the hidey house on the second floor, so she can jump onto the house and hop onto the 3rd floor. No 3rd floor investigations as of yet.

If she starts chewing the dowel rods, do you think it would be a good idea to put bitter apple on the dowel rods to deter chewing? I still want her to jump onto the 2nd level.. just not chew the rods.. if she ever intends to >.>

I love that the grids are white. It looks so immaculate and inviting. Any lucky bunny would be happy to move right in. I especially love that chacha can comfortably climb to the top level and look out the window….lucky bunny! What does it look out on? Great work, and economically, too!

To the apartments across the swamp! LOL! But I leave the blinds open in the morning when I feed her her breakfast pellets.

She is doing okay now. Less thumping. I have to vacuum up the mess I made in the living room before I let her out to play.

I found these binder clips at Office Depot that say “CRAP” on them. I am going to buy a package tomorrow and use it to secure Chacha’s cage.

Well, she does poop a lot.. and she is a brat at times I think of it as a funny thing

Soon you won’t be able to lure ChaCha out of there.
You’re so thoughtful with the colour scheme! If the dowel rods are plain wood, I’d let her gnaw at them. Be good for her and I wouldn’t think her little teef could effect the structural integrity. Maybe famous last words…ha!

Looks great! I don’t know if ChaCha is a climber/jumper, but small little Remi has no problem clearing those 14-inch grid levels. It was a few days before anyone actually saw him jump up there, but treats left up there overnight were always gone the next morning .  Maybe ChaCha is a little apprehensive about it now, but she’ll be up there in no time!

I believe it is pure wood. The plywood almost gave me slivers, so I am happy that I bought the towels to put over the wood.

I’ve finished her last bag of Carefresh litter, and now I am using the 40 pound bag of wood stove pellets as litter She is alright with it hehe. I need to get another bag because WSP aren’t sold during spring/summer.

Thanks Jersey I love the color teal.

Hehe, Remy likes to jump? I think Chacha has a fear of jumping onto/off things :-/. Oh well I am going to put a craisin on the 3rd floor to see if it is gone by the morning. Rabbits have super noses

I’ve added her pink Ikea hay rack and added fresh hay to it. I will be putting her toys into the condo when I go to bed. She is out and about right now!

This is SO AWESOME! She may pretend to be mad… but she’s really thinking “My slave finally creates the palace that I deserve!”

                          Bravo, sweetpea!
