I noticed on another thread some people commented that they don’t like to give their buns celery because it has very little nutritional value. But, the buns really like it! So here is a good alternative: Bok Choy! (aka Chinese cabbage) Yes, it is on the good list.

Major bonus: Bok Choy is leafy & crunchy. It has great big dark green leaves and thick crunchy white stems. The stems also have a high moisture content – just like celery.

I have been giving it to my bun’s lately. At first they ate up the leaves and left the stems. Now they enthusiastically chow on the whole thing.

BTW – Bok Choy is also healthy for hoomans. Try it in stir fry’s & soups.

So, try it out – and let me know how y’all like it.

My rabbit looooves her parsley. curley parsley, italian parsley, she doesn’t really care. she turns her nose up at bok choy and celery. Nope, she wants the parsley for $1.99 a pound and dandelion greens at $2.99 a pound!

My bunns love bok choy! We used to live near an Asian Market and they had all kinds of variations of bok choy, super-fresh everyday!

Pip likes it. Mimzy just turns his nose up. I get a VERY disapproving bun look with bok choy.
But they both love celery. I stopped giving it to them when I read that it’s like feeding them iceberg lettuce, though. :-/

Luey and the Piggies love celery and the leaves … I generally buy 1/2 celery as a whole one goes to waste.

                  Pearl and myself hate celery.

Luey gets yukky poops from baby bok choy and the pigs arn’t that keen on it either . .. Here are some pics of the Asian greens I feed Luey and Piggies … with the exception of the turnip and cucumber look alikes.
