Thats good to know that if its not regular than its probably just random. I feel myself getting more and more paranoid about them as they are 5 and a half now, I know thats about middle age but I can’t help it!
So we’ve had another one today :/ you can see in the photo, there is much more than last time and more cecotropey than poop but still two harder poops in there (I know some people might be grossed out that it’s on my bare hand but it is what it is lol)
Some factors that might be influencing is that they are molting, particularly Glenn, he’s going through a big shed, in a much more dramatic way than usual, hes usually a slow shedder but its all at once this time (not sure if the heatwave could have influenced his shedding schedule).
Also Nellie had a poop yesterday that was so strung together I could have made a bracelet with it! All other poops today seem fine but they are a little out of wack.. Glenn is also have a few little poops along side good looking ones the last couple days.
I may have also contributed myself a little by being too generous with treats the week or so. I recently bought them new forage of dried dandilion roots, rose and hibiscus petals and plaintain – all dried… I didn’t realise the sugar content in that stuff would be too high to be able to generous with it but perhaps it is? They are so darn difficult because they will run around my legs and do figure 8s till I give them a treat when I get home from work and if its not good enough for Glenn he will follow me begging adorably till I give him something that he deems acceptable.
They are both appearing well in themselves aside from the odd dodgy looking poop, eating piles and piles of hay and being fairly active – as active as 5-6 yr old bunnies usually are.
