Does anyone have bunny and cats?  They have bonded very well.  One of the kittens wakes us up in the morning meowing until we let the bunny out.  However, having trouble litter training the bunny outside his cage.  We were doing very well until the kittens decided they could use his box.  Now Axel ( the bunny) refuses to use the litterbox outside his cage.  His cage is not accessible to him without help. And quite frankly, if he could get into it so could the cats and they would just use the litter box in his cage (they have no manners).  So when he is out during the day he has stopped using his litterbox (his box and the cats box are about 5 feet apart).  He started leaving pellets around the cats box, peeing in his box, then stopped doing anything in his box and doing everything around the cat box (and who can blame him).  Now seems to feel he can leave pellets in my bed room and then for the first time peed on my bed yesterday. So clearly things are reversing. He was perfectly trained in about two daysafter bringing him home, now this. Any suggestions?

What kind of litter are you using, for the cats and the bunny. Is it the same? If so, change what the bun is using, so it feels different to the cats and they won’t use it, hopefully. You could also do some enforced training on the kittens, like you would when you first bring one home. When you see one go to the bunny’s box, say no, pick them up and put them in their own box. They might get the idea eventually.

I’ll try changing the litter. That makes sense to give them different kinds. Maybe that will work.  The bunny was doing so well until the kittens decided any box was a good box.

Make sure your bunny doesnt have any kind of clumping r clay cat litter, those kinds arent very good for bunnies And no pine or cedar shavings either.
