This is from the NYTimes on outdoor enclosures for cats that are really cool and I don’t see why some of these things can’t be done for rabbits since the idea is to keep them contained and safe but still enjoy it outside.

That’s a terrific idea for a city balcony! I would like to know what netting they are using.

            Very cool! Thanks for posting!
I’d love to do something like this for my bunnies.

I think these are metal mesh panels by taking another look. That would work for rabbits just the same. (First I thought it was a fabric mesh — I guess, I have been watching too much soccer!!)

LOL – I bet a soccer goal would work as well – SCORE!

Petzy – my bedroom is like your basement. My house is built into a hill so the back of the bottom story is actually build into the hill underground. My windows are at ground level …so there were many possibilities to build something like you did with a ramp and taking of my screen and making a outdoor run for them from my room…….but the raccoons!!!! They are so bad here, they even got my guinea pig a few weeks ago. It’s been terrible. I never hate any animal but I have a VERY strong disliking for them. They killed my Jerry piggy I so wish I could build something cool into the backyard but I will never have trust in it to let my babies go outside.

Those cat runs are so cool.

My ramp set-up was fun, it’s a pity I had to abandon it. — I have more predators than I can count. My solution was the pen built of siding. It has sunken into the ground enough to eliminate any spaces at all. My point is, there will always be predators, even if you thought there weren’t any and the best way is to guard the rabbits and build predator-proof.
I think you might have myxomatosis in your area, though, do you know? I could be wrong.

I think Lesley posted that it was in the area. We aren’t going outside it was just a daydream. I don’t want to deal with fleas or ticks. Or raccoons….

Ive been trying to convince my mom for months that we need a screened in porch. She works two jobs so she is never home, but every hour she is she spends outside on the porch. And the cats would LOVE to go outside. And the bunnies would like it too . But she isn’t convinced :/
