My husband made a cat house for my parents’ cat. He used wood and covered it with carpet. We were thinking maybe he could make a house that was bunny sized. My rabbits don’t really chew on carpet or anything. Do you think they would like it and would it be appropriate?

Yeah, I’ll have to convince my husband that this is really important. Otherwise, it might take him awhile.

You could keep it real simple. Just unfinished wood and no carpet. I think most rabbits would love a wooden hidey house.

I saw something at petco specifically for rabbits and it looks just like the cat furniture. It was round with hole in it and they could jump on top but it was kind of circular. I really liked it the only reason I did not get it is bc I have a big bunny wasn’t sure he would fit in hole and he also stretches out when he lays down and the bunny would probably need to be smaller and like to maybe curl up. It was cool, though.

My rabbits love the cat condos and they are carpeted – they can get inside or on top. Haven’t had any problems with my rabbits and the carpet.

I think Hannah would looooove a kitty condo. She loves jumping up on things and climbing.

Here’s a couple of pics from when we built ours.  We used 2×4’s, pressed wood, and different fleece instead of carpet.  I don’t know if I could make one for Hugo though.  =)

Well, since somebody discovered the dog’s carpeted ramp that goes up onto the couch, I thought a carpeted bunny house would be something fun for him to climb on. Thanks for the pictures, they are really helpful.

You’re welcome. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. This is the website I designed it off of. It’s nice because it gives you all the measurements for everything.

I never did get to finish it. We had to move into an apartment and could not keep our buns. What you see is not even half done.
