        http://freshhealthybody.com/feeding…y-carrots/

I was researching to see how many homeless rabbits are in USA. I cannot find what I was looking for. I found this website and checked it out. Oh my…

This person is sooo stupid to feed rabbits carrots only. I don’t care if it is cheaper than pellets, HAY IS MUCH CHEAPER if the author of this website go to local farm to get hay!

Even WORSE: One of the commenters has MY NAME!! *fumes*

            I can’t believe it.

I know rabbits can be successful on pellet free diets, but CARROTS ONLY??
The person said she/he is a breeder.. well, they condem a lot of things that are healthy for rabbits (not spaying, DO BREEDERS let their bunnies out to binky?)

            Pellets are nice, in small amounts. I don’t even spend much money on pellets, that is like a every 6 month charge o_O;;

I can’t believe that person is so uneducated after two years! I did research on rabbits BEFORE even adopting one! I joined this site to get more knowledge, and speak with my vet tech every two months during her nail trim about things. I consider it animal neglect when people do that to their pets.

This really says something about breeders. Of course, not all breeders do things like this, but more often than not, it’s ONLY about saving a few pennies, NOT about the health of the animal. This should really make people think twice about supporting animal breeders. There are better ways to go about acquiring a rabbit.

Well, it’s a weird website anyway – it’s not even a website for animals….it’s for human health. I would hope that anyone who lands on this is going to realize this and do further research.

                        Sheetrock.

                        As in… drywall.

(Granted, my two have eaten their share of drywall, but it wasn’t purposely fed to them.)

The most important part of a rabbits diet is hay, if they were good rabbit owners let alone being breeders they should know this. Rabbits don’t need pellets that is true, but they should have a small amount at least and then their bunny “salad” items. People like that aggravate me horribly, its almost like a puppy mill I recently heard about only feeding their dogs oats!!!

Drywall? For calcium? What the… Do people lack all common sense? There was construction done on my house recently and some drywall bits/dust got in the animal cages. I vacuumed them out completely I was so scared my animals were going to get poisoning of some sort. Good to know it’s non toxic but I can’t imagine it being good for them.

Ugh Breeders…sorry I’m sure they’re all not that bad but just the way they think they know stuff sometimes.
I don’t know how many rabbits are homeless in the US but I believe they are the 3rd most homeless pet. Not sure where I heard that from, so don’t quote me on it.

                                Yes, you are correct skibunny.

The people that leave bunnies homeless .. are the ones that make impulse buys. Bunnies are so cute.. and small.. but they freak out when bunny gets older and becomes a terror (teenagers) and don’t want them anymore due to their destruction. They likely did not know bunnies will chew anything and everything if not put out of sight/rabbit proofed.

                                It is a sad reality.
I saw a video online of the rabbits being dumped at a california school. It hurt me – I saw bunnies that looked just like Chacha.. and wow. How could they do that? Are people that ignorant of spaying and neutering?

I’ve realized that people do not give bunnies a chance. The ones that have opened their hearts are the ones that see their true potential and their bunderful personalities

In the petstores I’ve been in, all they ever feed them are pellets….and they keep them in a box with “hamster” shavings…I just wonder about the poor ignorant people who haven’t got a clue and buy these rabbits thinking that’s ok to only feed them pellets
