My rabbits got their space under the bed back since there is no more competition for territory. Problem is: the hay. It sticks to my carpet like velcro. For 4 rabbits I need a large supply of hay and no rack or hay ball will do so I stuffed an old hamster cage with hay thinking they could eat through the open side exit.

        under bed access to hay

mess from litter and hay is contained on tray

        It seemed to work well.

        But Mops had other ideas…

I was surprised he fit. I would have expected my mini rexes to go in but not him.

hehe silly Mops. Guess he disapproved of nabbing bits of hay through the bars and wanted to be right in there with it all! Silly boy

I so <3 your bunnies, one day I'll have a group to bond… I'll need tips then! lol

Oh dear! 0_0 Mops sure is a caution! How do you keep up with him?

He’s the one you have to hand feed pellets to separately? Or was that Lint?

I hear the point about the hay being like velcro with my bad ear. I think it would only come off the carpet if the planet suddenly lost gravity!

Mops is in fact my bony bunny… he doesn’t eat much. Or, maybe his coat takes much out of him to grow… he had a haircut recently so he would look more like a rabbit.

If the planet lost gravity I hypothesize that the hay that is already stuck to my carpet would still not come off… but the tray I put under their litterboxes really helps to keep new hay from attaching itself to the carpet.

Well, this is my update on my setup… it was a bust! The hamster cage has been bent out of shape.

                    Everything was going well:

                    Lint liked it…

                    we know Mops did, too…

Neigey of course had fun being so mini…

But Deirdra was too large and this is how the thing broke.

so I got rid of it. I was worried my great dane would get an idea to try to go in too…

                        Thanks Lintini! My dogs aren’t pure-breds, though. They’re half & half, dane/bullmastiff.

I was debating whether or not to post this picture… because of all the vegetarians on here. this is his favorite ‘treat’

WHERE did you get that bone???? Chuck would LOVE that!

Whole raw bones are hard to get for me too. This bone was from a meat cutting place that processes bison. Beef ones don’t agree with my dogs, so I make the long drive twice a year to the bison place. Sometimes I get elk femurs from a dog raw food store in the city, they are the best, very lean and not smelly. But they charge big for them.

That bone is freaky, very neanderthal looking! Where do you store them?

I try to put my bones away when people come over. I forget how gross it is. My freezer can fit a few, I buy maybe 8 at a time.

…oh, you mean how I store them once the dogs have gnawed on them some? — As long as the marrow is inside I have to refrigerate them. Luckily I have a second old fridge for this. When the marrow is gone, they are dried up and only bone is left. My dogs can’t split open the femur shank themselves, at least not the bison kind. they are oh so hard. I usually end up splitting them open so they can get all the perishable marrow out.

LOL, I really had no idea about the bone marrow Petzy. I don’t have a dog of my own, never had one, other than as a child and I didn’t care for them. And we didn’t have big dogs that required big bones either. I’m pretty dog ignorant other than petting other people’s dogs.

The bones remind me of the Flintstones.

I wish sometimes I didn’t have this crazy love for big dogs… life would be easier… but it’s just a part of me. My boyfriend luckily loves dogs also. I used to say I could never be with anyone that doesn’t understand how much I am into dogs.

I have to give bones, or else…
