So I just got a baby lionhead rabbit named Coffee Bean and dont get me wrong shes really sweet and I love her to bits but…I have a blanet down for her but she keeps pulling it up and eating the carpet. I have plenty of space, hides, chew toys, hay, and food and water for her but she just keeps doing that. Ive tried putting weights around the edges of the blanket but she keeps skratching and skratching at it til she get it out of the way. She also has this digging habit thats driving me insane. please help me…

A tile or piece of cardboard may be best. I have a carpet chewer/digger as well. Sometimes she gets into ‘funks’ where she really wants to get a certain area, so I’ll put a sheet of cardboard there or try and redirect that energy to other toys. For her, I use packing paper (i.e. kraft paper/cardboard paper) and hold it while she chews and claws at it.

In addition to material prevention/management, you can also consider spaying, if that is something you have not thought of/she’s not yet. Since she is a baby, I assume not. Even without chewing behavior, spaying female rabbits is highly recommended because of their high chance of developing uterine cancer by 3-4yrs of age. Spaying also eliminates experiencing fake pregnancies. Chewing and digging are behaviors that can also see a reduction as a result of spaying.

            She’s very cute <3

I had a crazy carpet digger too! In her main living area, I used a piece of plywood with vinyl tiles on it, then grass mats on top. I’ve also seen ppl use those hard plastic carpet protectors meant for under an office chair as the base flooring. Then you can add fleece, cardboard, or grass mats to add traction.

Ditto Wick on using tiles to block particular hot-spots. My carpet digger also really loved cardboard cat scratchers. She would “dig” on them and reshape until they were down to nothing.

Oh yes, bitter apple is surprisingly tasty for rabbits. 🙄

I think putting down tile or some other type of material to cover the carpet is your best bet.
