Moonpaw has really long ears and the tips of them dangle in his water dish when he’s drinking.  Then he’ll go run around and the wet part will get all dusty.  Is this something I should worry about?  He’s still getting used to us and is just starting to warm up to the point where he follows me around and lets me pet him a bit.  I don’t want to ruin that by messing with his ears every time he drinks, but I don’t want to leave it alone if it will irritate his skin.  Thoughts?

Asriel’s ears are too long for his water dish too, so he’s always getting his ears soaked. We haven’t had a problem in the year and a half he’s been with us. If you notice the skin getting raw you can always put a little coconut oil on it to help it from drying out excessively

Thor dips her ears in the water bowl too and we haven’t had any problems yet with irritation

If you need an alternative you could try using a spaniel bowl. They tilt in at the top to prevent ears falling in. It could work for bunnies too.
