Hi – I found a wondeful toy for my always chewing and digging Holland Lop: a cardboard scratchboard for cats (comes with catnip, but this doesn’t harm and encourages chewing). She is occupied for hours with this and it distracts her nciely from chewing the furniture and the floor. I placed it in her habitat and she mostly “works” on it at night. Best chewing toy ever. You get them for about 7 dollars at Target or in the pet store. I will defintely stock up on them. Doesn’t look like the last very long…. She also likes to sleep on it.

My rabbits LOVE those things! Especially Leopold. Maybe it’s a lop thing?

Hmm, I didn’t know catnip was safe for buns – Powder loves cardboard, so maybe I should pick some of those up.

Catnip doesn’t harm them. You don’t have to sprinkle it on there though. I don’t.

The ones we used to buy for kitties already had it on it, wasn’t an option, but if there are ones that give an option will try to find those, thanks.

Yup, catnip is safe! I also use tons of cat toys for the buns, I’ve been drooling over this haha-

Tipsy I love how all the animals are jealous of you taping mala. Bunjamin loves his kitty scratch board thing. I leave the catnip out. He used to sleep on it but now he just beats it up

hahaha oh yeah, normally Onion, the frenchie, is the one getting videotaped, but this time it was Mala and he was not pleased. But I am definitely going to have to try this out too… So many ideas! I said I would before, but Tipsy wasnt in dire need of a digging/destroying box till now. I need to come up with a dirt box that rabbits can dig in but is secluded enough to where it wont get your house dirty… not sure how that would work with rabbits, they just attract messes. But knowing us rabbit owners, we have vacuums and brooms ready for the sweep when the rabbits are put up.
