        Hi!

Please tell me if this is the wrong section to ask but I need help!

My buns LOVE cardboard. I’ve tried many toys to keep them busy but nothing seems to work but cardboard. The problem is that I’m worried they are ingesting too much.

They love to throw toilet tubes but end up eating them. The same with cardboard box houses. I made a scratching tray but they just ate it and any digging box with paper.. they ate it! I’ve tried to make toys with hay or treats inside but they just eat the container ?

I tried plastic toys but they were not interested. Please help! How do I keep them occupied without eating everything?

Most bunnies love cardboard and will consume some of it (it’s paper so usually not a huge deal), however you are right to be concerned if they consume large amounts. Are you sure they are eating it? Sometimes it can be hard to tell that they spit it out as they often chew it quite finely. :/
Have you tried toys that are made out of hay– toss toys and mats? My bunnies love those kind of toys and they can consume them without worries.
I would watch them while they play with cardboard, just to make sure they aren’t consuming too much. Daily toilet paper tube time.

My bun chews cardboard constantly. I use tp tubes to make toys that i tie to his xpen that don’t last very long, and his hut is 2 cardboard boxes that link together (oddly though, he only chews one of them). As long as your bunnies have plenty of fresh water and hay, their digestive system should move normally. If their litter box doesn’t fill like it does without cardboard access,id say be concerned and maybe limit the access to cardboard a bit. But if their behavior is normal I think you’re good
