Yes you can use those but make sure that they do not start to eat them.

I’ve been thinking of using those as well. For when my dad and I move into the apartment. It will make cleaning up hay so much easier. But I fear she might start to eat it >.< I won't know unless I try. Perhaps I'll get a few and see what happens.

I use similar ones for my bunny, and so far so good. Actually amazing because they are super easy to clean. However, you need to make sure to check the foam mats like other have said to make sure your bunny doesn’t suddenly start chewing them.

It also helps if you keep the borders of the area you make with the tiles out of your bunny’s reach with the pen and also I cover most of the parts where the tiles are joined together (where a bunny can grab a connecting tab to chew) with a small rug.

Sure, I uploaded a pic of it a while ago, and it’s arranged slightly differently now with the rug right in the middle of the pen to cover where the tiles join together. The foam tiles I used were 4 tiles that were 2ft by 2ft that I bought online on walmart.com) to create a 4ft by 4ft mat.

                      These are the tiles:

and here’s the pen…. (like I said, I changed the rug to be in the center of the pen, covering the connection areas between the tiles).

Thanks! I really hope Sammy never decides to jump over the 29 inch pen because I really like that it’s white and kind of minimalist looking (also I can step over it), so I’d hate to have to change it… we’ll see.

I took some updated pictures of the setup for you this morning. Here they are:

This also gives me the chance to say that Sammy is pretty much back to normal post-neuter. He’s eating everything as usual, and really wants to get out of his pen (but I’m going to be strong lol). Here he is grooming his friend Sharky.

                            Great to hear about Sammy!!

dont worry, my pen is similar. Hershey could jump over it if she tried, but she’s only ever done it if theres something in it ( like a hidy hut ) that she can jump on.

^ Twix is about 6lbs. (its not hershey in the pic.)

Ooo I like that pen too Mirbear. How tall is it? Sammy is a bit of a climber though so i think that many horizontal bars (that make the pen grid style) might be a problem for him…

Mocha, yes he’s grown so much! He grew 1 pound just in the last three weeks, from 2 to 3… I’m worried he’s an undercover flemish giant lol probably not though

                                  24″ i think.. im not 100% sure.

lol My two are more like bunnies than monkeys they dont climb. *THANK GOD!*
right now i only use it outside, and they have a tendancy to unlock it when im not looking… -.-
So i also need to buy some string or something to tie it up with cause the clips just are not working..

I loved those but unfortunately my buns loved them a little too much and started eating them Give it a shot just keep an eye out if they start to chew on them. I still use them but I have lino. overtop for extra cushioning for them.

I tried them when Pacey was young it worked for about a day until he was chewing on them. So now I use them for my ferrets play area. But while he did have them it was sooo easy to clean up the hay!

They UNLOCK the pen? Wow, quite the escape artists LOL Luckily Sammy is not the sharpest crayon in the box. He wouldn’t know where to start to get his pen open, and tried to jump out of it today – on the WALL SIDE, so unless he’s developing the capacity to move through walls, he was going nowhere fast. sigh lol

24″ is an easy jump for a rabbit. I think you find, Mir, your pen is higer than that.

just measure it to find out. All my rabbits have jumped 24″ many times.

Mine is the clean living 8 panel one. I actually bought the Midwest 3 panel set of panels so that I could add a panel to mine, and though they’re note exactly the same they still work. They connect at the bottom and middle but the top hooks don’t align. Still works for me cause I use the midwest added panel against the wall anyways.
