So, right now Zeus’s “run” (NIC cubes attached to his dog cage) is floored with coroplast, or corregated plastic.  I actually had it leftover from my guinea pig’s cage (may be RIP), and it’s finally starting to show its age.  Zeus loves to dig at it and attempt to bite it, and I’m afraid once he makes a hole in it, he’ll have it destroyed in no time. .

I’m thinking linoleum will last longer than coroplast, but I don’t know how linoleum “works”.  Do you buy it by the square foot?  Can you get it textured, or is it all 100% totally smooth and flat?  Do I just go to the hardware store and ask for (x) square feet?  How much does it typically cost?

I don’t know ANYTHING about lineoleum.  Please enlighten me!

Linoleum will make a nice floor. There are shiny ones which are more slippery and there are textured to look more like stones which aren’t slippery. You can get it at Menards or any other hardware store. If you go to Menards and aren’t too picky you can get remnants which won’t cost as much. Otherwise you just tell them how many sq ft you need. You can usually get a nice piece for about $1/sq ft. We did a condo in it once and it turned out really nice and was much cheaper than the coroplast.

Right now Menards has them on sale from $.79-$1.29/sqft. It’s really easy to cut to size too. It’s very nice to work with. I actually zip tied mine to the shelves and used a hole puncher to make the holes.

Great idea!  That’s definitely very affordable, too.  Mainly I don’t want to keep using coroplast because it’s really hard to find unless you order it online.

I know and it’s not easy to work with either. I hope you find something you like.

Yeah it sounds like the linoleum should work nicely!

Biggest problem with the coroplast is getting a huge piece of it in your 2 door car rofl. ..that was fun. I almost had to go back in and ask them to cut it down for me. lol

I use lino tiles in one of my pens. I just bought the single squares. I think they were like 14 cents each. I just peeled off the backing and slapped them on the wood. They also sold them in bulk by the box. This was at Lowes. Home Depot has the name type of deal if you wanna buy them that way. Make sure you have a box cutter/sheet rock knife or some sort of hefty cutting device to trim them down if you need to.
