I got my bunny a dog cage for his indoor pen/cage. and i made him this cool bed in a box like a hammock thing, i saw a one for a cat, it was pretty cool, but my bunny is digging and chewing it, i dont mind it diggging chewing messing around with it, im just worried incase he swallows some? its a little frale (towel) it had a few threads hanging of that i cut of, but unfortunetly he ate one before i got there, i hope hes okay, it wasnt much, just a little peice of thread? what do you think?

anyway, i want to buy him a new bed, a cat bed with a proper shelter made out of a soft foamy material, yano the ones (type in google images*cat bed*) but would he wee and poop in it?

im still litter training him he does a few poops in the litter tray but a few out of it, i dont mind, but i only started training him this morning and im about to go check to see where hes pee’d, so would he poop and pee in it?

thankyou for any replys xxxx heather x

There is no guarantee that he won’t poop and pee on the cat bed, all you can do is try it. However, I would not try this until you get him fully litter trained.

Rabbits don’t like you messing with their stuff – it’s best to clean and change litter boxes, etc…when they are out of their territory. It’s not that they don’t like you, they feel you are threatening them.

            Is this your first rabbit?

Buns can be very territorial of hands inside of their space, so this is probably the case here. If he’s not neutered yet, that is a very important step towards reducing aggressive behavior and helping with littertraining. Otherwise, you may want to only clean up in his cage when he’s out playing.

My rabbit did not take to have a bed or towel until she was fully litter trained and also spayed. She would pee and poop all over it. She was also VERY cage dominant until she was fixed. Since she’s female, I had her spayed at 9 months.

Also be careful of what the material of the cat bed is made of.
