Has anyone ever experienced This? I would have never thought a yeast infection from an animal could transfer to a human. Please help !

I believe it depends on the specific spore and the human. Typically, a lot of fungal spores a rabbit catches are not ones that can be easily spread to humans, unless they have suppressed immune systems, or it’s one that spreads to humans. Wick has a fungal infection/ringworm and I have never caught it.

If you feel you have caught it, you want to make sure to treat yourself, as well as your rabbit, and clean both your environments to get rid of the spores.

Thank you Wick for your response ?
Oddly enough my daughter was diagnosed with a yeast infection yesterday, I advised the doctor that our bunny has an ear yeast and bacterial infection currently (have been treating with Baytril for about 1.5 wk) – my daughters doctor assured that ear infection couldn’t spread to a human…

It seems like a really weird coincendence to me!

Far as I know most illnesses and infections cannot spread from most animals to humans, but rabbits cannot catch human bacteria or vice versa, that is not to say things like yeast with a common cause can’t happen because I remember being told some things are not species based, they’re universal and everyone can get them. Either way, hope that gets treated for the bunny and your daughter.
