So about 2 years ago, I got a lion head rabbit named Remmy. He’s always been very mischievous and strong willed. About 3 months ago I adopted a timid dwarf rabbit named Pip to be his companion. We went to a bunny dating event which is where they met. They pretty much ignored each other for the most part but weren’t aggressive. So I adopted Pip and have been slowly bonding the two, or at least trying. Here’s the thing, Pip is very timid and Remmy is very much the opposite. Remmy is a diva to say the least. He did not like having Pip in “his area” but was 100% fine with her everywhere else. Flash forward a month and a half: Pip and Remmy live in the same cage, they share a litter box, they eat together, and get along pretty well. However, they just don’t seem “bonded.” They sleep on separate sides of the cage at night and seem content doing their own things. Occasionally they’ll lay together (as evidence by my picture) but honestly, they spend most of their time separate. Is this normal? Can bunnies just be friends without being “bonded”?
