Possibly Palomino? She has some darker guard hairs so I’m uncertain. How much does she weigh? Thanks for saving her btw.

She’s probably some kind of mix – but looks like a palamino to me too

well she was in the pet store close to me she came in with a litter when they were small, she was the only solid color one the others were tan and white they all had floppy ears. well my reptile friend aj decided instead of buying a jumbo rat for his 8ft burm got the bunny. well the snake was shedding and wouldnt eat so i took food and told him that i would give him the proper food for the snake when its done shedding (2 jumbo rats).but she must have been treated bad by both him and the original owner because she is very shy and skitish no matter how much i work with her.  i have only had her about maybe 7months.

She’s beautiful! I’ll never understand how anyone can feed such a beautiful creature to a big ugly snake!!!

that burmese python was very  beautiful. all animals are beautiful and should not be cirtisized because of what they are fed. some people feed live aniamls to cats, dogs, and ferrets but no one persecutes them for it. i know its all about perception but it should be open to the facts not closed to opinion. no offense to anyone.

Scooter here. I’m not going to comment on the ethics of feeding bunnies to snakes. But my understanding on keeping large pet snakes is that feeding live animals is inadvisable, as a live animal can seriously harm the snake in the process of feeding or attempting to feed (e.g., fighting back). This is particularly significant given that large pet snakes are also quite expensive, both in terms of the cost of the animal as well as upkeep. Feeding snakes food that is already dead is preferable for that reason, unless there’s just no way the snake can eat, and some pet stores will carry pre-killed frozen rats and mice.

At least that’s what I learned from the various pet reptile magazines at our old vet’s office. They treated all sorts of exotics, not just bunnies!

would you like to hand feed a 6ft blood python? or perhaps a 9ft red tail boa? they dont make tongs long enough for snakes that large. and in my experience unless you make it “dance” around for them they dont eat it. they snap at you because you are hotter then the 85 degree rotting food your holding in front of them coupled with the scent of their lovely meal. my snakes are not vicous by any means but feeding day for certain breeds turns into a hazard zone of very large and sharp teeth( like my larger red tails and blood pythons). i used to feed dead and i had way more food accident related attacks then feeding live (actually more attacks period), i stun the food now though just enough that the prey is dizzy and cant attack. affording the vet is one thing but affording the hostpital is another, i have been bitten and almost strangled by a large snake and it hurts ALOT (blood everywhere) it wasnt pretty and i have scars from it still. so feeding live rats and mice to reptiles is for me, i do not however feed rabbits because they are hard to stun and pose a serious threat to any reptile not to mention they are just too cute.i wont own a  reptile that gets large enough to eat anything past rats anyway, i am only 5’4 and i cant have anything over 10ft or its too dangerous for me to be alone with it.but the largest reptile i ever wanted is red tail boas and i have a bunch of those.

This is really not the place for this type of debate.

I am very happy you were able to rescue Food from becoming food.

I like snakes, I’ve always wanted a snake, but my love for bunnies outweighs that and I would not risk having both species in my home. That, as well as the fact I would not be able to feed it live food (mice, rats, anything…) make it not likely to ever happen.

Didn’t mean to offend anyone. Guess I should have only thought it Besides, I don’t hold it against animals what nature made them eat, I just meant how I don’t know how someone could actually bring themselves to do it, is all.

i dont even know how i do it. rats and mice make very good pets and are usually sweet creatures, very sensative and intelligent. but its the deal i took when i decided to take on  reptiles. dont worry though the reptiles are kept in another room across the house (both rooms are also snakeproofed) so no accidents here. all animal parties are safe. 3,000 dollars worth of equipment made sure of that. well this point of feeding live or dead to reptiles is an ongoing debate in the reptile world so i am used to posting as a debate (sorry….its a habit…). so sorry if i sounded mean or anything i likes you guys!!! ur my bunny friendz

i may be re~homing food because one i rescued another rabbit this past weekend(i’ll post about it later) and two this couple that visited my house has taken a liking to her alot and i may just let them take her home.they seem to be bunny savy and they have another bunny that they were looking to find a bonding buddy for, so i thought i would show them her because i think she would do better only bonding to one bunny rather then 2. this way she gets more attention seeing as how she is still skitish.
