I’ve looked around forever and finally found what that awful crust is in Freddy’s litter pan. The question is how the heck do I get the stuff off?? I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed at it every time I clean and it only gets worse! Just today I had some luck as some chunks randomly chipped off and from there, I’ve been able to scrape most of it away, but there’s still some residue left. Anyone have any easy ways to get the rest off? I’ve been scraping for an hour. Also, I realize this might mean he’s eating too much calcium, but I can’t take away his greens! He loves those, and I don’t feed him much either! He eats his hay and is very good about his pellets. Any ideas about how to fix his diet?

Swap greens for lower calcium greens. What vegetables are you giving him?

Are you using vinegar and water to clean?

Kale and Cilantro. I’ve just been using hot water and a scraper. Before all the buildup I was using a litter box cleaning spray.

Kale is high calcium, so switch kale to romaine lettuce or green lettuce.

Use white distilled vinegar mixed with water. It’s a miracle worker for pee-related issues.
