so i have two cages, one for each bunny. they are fairly large and they have plenty of room in them (mostly keep them in there when we are not home or sleeping. they are out most of the day.) is it ok/safe to get cage deodorizer? we wash and clean their cages several days a week, but no matter what we do, still kinda stinks. if deodorizer isn’t safe, what other options are there?

What is it that’s making them smell? They shouldn’t really stink so that’s quite bizarre. Are you using litter/bedding all over the base by any chance? If so, you can just put bedding/litter in the litter tray and leave the rest bare or use a fleece blanket. That might help cut down on odour.

But as A&B said, vinegar works wonders at removing odours.

i do use paper bedding. i’m thinking that it’s the bedding itself lately. i did change the type of bedding so it could be that. i’ll try the white vinegar. i’m currently rearranging the room and trying to slowly change bunny’s lifestyle for the better!

paper bedding and carefresh tend to let the smells ruminate. I’ve never had a problem with smells after I switched to compressed pine pellets. A trick Wick loves is putting apple cider vinegar with the mother in their water to reduce the smell of the urine.

How often do you clean their litter boxes?
