Ever since Cadbury got spayed she’s been digging like crazy whenever I let her out of her pin. Whenever I let her out it’s all she ever tries to do. She runs to every corner in my room over and over again trying to rip up every edge of carpet. She won’t stop until she overheats herself from all the running, and then when she’s cooled off she starts digging again. I bought this carpet roll that I covered a large area of my room so she could rip up that instead, when I let her free roam she completely ignores it. I’ve also been buying her toys, I put them in places where she likes to dig up. She also completely ignores them. I give her old boxes, she manages to rip the carpet under the cardboard box. But when I put her into her pin, she doesn’t try to dig as much. It’s almost like everything I try doesn’t work, this is getting a bit frustrating and I really need some advice.

I’m not sure how much help this is – but the ONLY thing that has worked for mine is blocking off the corners – putting floor tile squares down (you can buy them for a couple of bucks at the hardware stores) or putting cardboard or “Hay Mats” over those areas – but as you’ve found you have to replace them often as they dig through and then still get to the carpet and the woven hay mats can get really expensive.

I also found putting physical objects in the corners help as it makes those corners seem to vanish for them.

But so far anywhere where I’ve put those floor tiles down they now just lay on them instead

Every bunny is different, so I hope that helps!

Asriel is a chronic digger. I laid out blankets for him to dig in, and when I had a bigger space I used to have a dig box made of carefresh that he could go to town in.
