I’m looking to replace the carpet in my bunnies’ pen with something else because they’re starting to chew on it underneath their hidey house. (I can’t just replace the carpet under their hidey house because they like to “drive it” around the cage sometimes for fun.)

RIght now I’m considering a fleece blanket on top of their existing carpet or a large (rather expensive) jute rug. By chance, burlap plant covers and tablecloths came up in the “customers also viewed section,” so I was curious if anyone tried burlap for a cage flooring.

You don’t want to use any material that has long strand fibers. Since fleece doesn’t have long strand fibers, that’s why it is recommended. I’m not sure about the fibers in burlap, though.

I’m not looking for anything with long fibers. Burlap is woven jute and sisal strings

I suspect burlap would be way too tempting for a bunny to chew.
