Dino my dwarf lop ear who was bonded a few months ago is almost 1 year old ( I think). All he does is sleep all the time.  Has anyone ever heard of this?  He sleeps all day, comes out at night for a few hours and while Gracie his mate is running around most of the time he is dosing off in a corner somewhere. I’m not sure what he does at night but while I’m awake and seeing him, he is sleeping alot more than Gracie. Any thought on this?  He does have issues with his eyes from time to time and I wonder if before I got him if he slept alot to combat the eye issues. Thanks bunny people…..

That’s pretty typical for my rabbits. They snooze all the time.

My bun sleeps constantly and only seems to be active for maybe 2-3 hours a day (a bit in the morning and a bit at night). Even when he’s active, it’s just hopping around and chewing on his toys a little, not hyperactive running around. I think it’s just a personality thing (and Otto’s a lop as well; I’ve heard lops tend to be more laid back, so maybe that’s what it is).

I’ve joked about setting up a camera when we go to bed to see if he’s binkying around when we’re not watching. There’s a possibility that his favorite time to be awake just happens to be when you’re sleeping.

Mine are more active when we are in bed and I know this because they make lots and lots of noise. They are very active in the early morning around 6am and at night when i am trying to fall asleep. So when i wake up around 10 i let them roam around the room for a bit and then back in the cage till about 3 or 4 then they get to run in the living room for a bit then like half hour to an hour before bed i let them roam the room and sometimes the living room but that leads to a very long game of hide and seek behind and under the couches.

Thanks. I’ll just assume that Dino is a lazy, sleeply but adorable little bunny – big long ears and all!
