Yes, well I sort of gave up on finding a new name for Bunny. My boyfriend still calls her Dingle, I call her Bunny, and in that way we sort of meet in the middle.

We just moved into a new apartment last weekend that is about twice the size of our last one. So the first thing I did was go out and get some 14 1/2" squares and built her a pen with a ramp up into her cage. I think total it’s about 5’x8′, with a ramp up to her cage which is two stories inside. I keep the cage open so she can come and go between the cage and pen as she pleases, and she still likes to sleep in the cage at night. She really seems to love it, she was doing binkies like crazy the day I made it for her. In the picture you can see I made the top half of the corner hinged so two squares swing out so I can go inside and play with her, and then I use a metal clip to link them closed otherwise.

Now, I just have to wait for her spay (the vet prefers her to be about 2 lbs before she does it) and then find her a husbunny!

Awe she looks so sweet poised there, it’s as if she was posing for you and the new enclosure looks fantastic! Well, it sounds like you managed a good compromise with naming her, although she may get confused having two. I see you used zippy ties! Gotta love them!

I had that cage on wheels for bunbun! I ended up sticking it in my uncles basement and building a nic condo. The space looks great and bunny looks happy! Did i mention cute?

I totally love the idea of a ramp up to a second level – I think I’m going to have to do that with my bunnies! I have about 3 cages to remodel so I think one of them will have to follow that design you’ve got going on…maybe even a spiral ramp…hmmmm

OMG, cute bunnie! Just curious, I can’t tell, what did you use on the bottom of the pen? I’m trying to get some design ideas for a play pen for my bunnies.

I just used an area rug that I really didn’t have any use for, that way she wouldn’t mess up the actual carpeting in the apartment if she decided she wanted to start digging at it or pulling it up (which she hasn’t yet). She always urinates in her box, so I figure smell shouldn’t be a problem as long as I vacuum it regularly. It seems to be working so far. I made the ramp going up to the cage out of the leftover wire squares that I had, and it removes real quick if I ever need to lock her up in her cage for some reason. She really likes her cage, so I decided to keep it just to give her some stability since we moved to a new place. Plus I like how it gives more floor area since its raised up.

Thanks, guys! I don’t really like the red rug (an old bathroom rug I had no more use for) because it clashes (which I’m sure bothers her soooo much lol), but I was planning on eventually making some more mods to the area, like a raised platform for her to lounge on outside of the cage, so I’m going to keep it for now. Thanks for the feedback!
