Bunny Updates

Hi everyone! I havent een on here for awhile because we have been so busy with home and work life etc. Today Ive got a bit of a quiet afternoon at the shop so Ive logged in to say ”HELLO IVE MISSED YOU GUYS!!!”

 

Stu Bob says hello too, shes still with us and shes doing really well! Shes on Flagyl once a day and injections once a day for 2 bacterial infections she had in her abscess and as long as she gets her medicine, it stays under control. Shes going back to see our vet in 2 weeks to assess her and see if the tooth can be removed thats causing her grief but the vet has warned me that if she has this operation she will lose and eye to get to the tooth, but we think she is blind in that eye now we think as she does not react on that side at all. If you stand on her other side she will come running because she knows youre there. but I dont know if we will do the op yet because its a bit scary.

We have 10 rabbits at the moment. Stu Bob, Mr Bunny, Rocket, Remmy, Rabz and Sparrow. We also have Maian who was badly abused by kids in her 2 years at her other home, she is 100% blind like her son Jelybeans who has been adopted by Jersey Girl  Maian is doing really well now and has settled in to just being a rabbit. She is no longer scared of ANYTHING and is just so precious.

Squee is boarding with us at the moment. You will remember Squee, he was adopted by a lady in the shop next to mine, and she also had JellyBeans brother there for awhile but she is on Holidays now and so Squee and his mate are at my place. I cant think of a good name for Jelly Beans brother so I have been calling him Jelly Beans 2.

We also have a new baby bunny who is about 8 weeks old and identical to Timbu. Her name is Houdini and Carl reckons he found her roaming the streets behind a pet shop while I was at work one day. She was really scatty the first few days but shes getting better now. I rang the pet shop that she was ‘found’ near and she was one of theirs. Apparently her parents were about 5 pounds so I know what to expect.

I went to look at JellyBeans 2s teeth the other day and they were so long. I cut about 1cm off the top ones. It was hard to spot because he has an underbite. He was going to be adopted out but his teeth look like high maitenance so we are going to keep him now. Hes a lovely rabbit  

 I think we are going to get him neutered and bond him with Houdini in the near future. Then Jersey and I can Play tricks on you and post pics of our bonded pairs and you wont know which is which!!!! Muahahahahaha!!! Identical Pairs!

Carl is re building our entertainment area for the bunnies today. Very exciting. I also just managed to buy one of those awesome huge wooden chicken coops on the internet for $100. because its multi storey Im going to make the inside like a play centre for the bunnies

That’s funny you are calling the bun JB2 as I am still slipping up & calling Jellybeans by his brothers name. They’re like interchangeable twins.

Um, so does Carl know about this chicken coop yet?

lol no Carl doesnt know about the chicken coop yet! Carl doesnt need to know until I get home from work with it on the back of my ute and say “look what I got!” That way its too late for him to say no.

Actually, since our re-arrangement of structure and relationship at home, Carl has suddenly taken a great interest in bunnies. I find it a very timely improvement. Hes at home rebuilding the area that they are in today because we had ripped a lot of it down. I have been waiting to do this for years. Suddenly it is happening stright away. Apparently I also get to choose the new lighting for the area also. Last time I asked for lighting I was told “Its only a garage, the lightings fine.” Today when I mentioned it I was told to go and choose any lighting I want and he will install it. This pleases me.
Also Carls allergy to bunnies seems to have miraculously disappeared. Its amazing.

No Jb2 was only there for the photo. They all seem to get along with him but he is still living with Squee at the moment. Then he will be on his own for awhile, then neutered, then he will have to fit in somewhere lol. My group dont seem to have a problem with bonding. But I dont want 10 free ranging at one time because of the poop factor. so maybe 2 groups. The family as one group and JB2 and Houdini as the other group.

Haha, you might actually get more poop with 2 groups. Poop Wars. I’ve heard groups often accept new ones in without too much issue and it certainly seems the case with your bunch. But a JB2/Houdini pairing would be very cute.

Okay, first of all ***Squeeeee**** @ Houdini.  Look I can be a Houdini too! I will make that bunny disappear! He will reapear in my bunny room! Thanks for the pics, Jersey. It’s good to see someone is taking responsibility for posting all that cute!!!
