First off, I want to say hi because I am new to the forum!!

Ok do I’ve had midnight (2 month old Alaska bunny) for about 3 weeks now and he is a very well mannered bunny. But he’s never been very affectionate until now. He loves being petted but you have to catch him first because he has so much energy all the time. Well today I let him out for the day as always and he went straight for the kitchen to eat breakfast.. Well about 10 minutes later I noticed that I hadn’t seen him shoot across the living room floor in a while so I went to go find him. I turned off the tv and I heard like a faint screaming sound. Midnight had gotten stuck in the kitchen cabinet. My assumption is that he was being a little too curious and managed to open the door. But once I opened the door he shot out and ran laps around the apartment..
Ever since then he won’t leave me alone. He’s like an excited puppy. If I’m sitting down he will jump on my lap and try to climb up my shirt. If I’m standing hell circle around my feet (which is a little annoying. I accidentally kicked him today) and he has been following all day. My friend was joking and saying that I’m his savior. Do you think midnight may have understood that I helped him earlier?

I think he knows you helped him. Or at least he knows he was in trouble and that you were a resource to him. Last night I made a last effort at bonding my two male bunnies, and there was immediately a fight and one of the bunnies bit me sth terrible. I scooped up the other rabbit and held him so he didn’t come to any harm – and since then, he’s been really cuddly. He cuddled with me in bed, he came and lay close to my face this morning when we woke up, much more closely than he’s ever done before. It’s like he knew I saved him from getting hurt. (Of course he doesn’t realize it was my fault that he was ever in the risk of getting hurt).

In dogs it’s common that if you’ve once helped them when they’ve been ill or hurt, they know it and want to hang out with you, but I never knew it could be like this with bunnies.

I don’t know this of course, but chances are your bunny will project his sexual feelings towards you when he starts getting sexually mature, which he will be soon if he’s about 3 months old now. Because now he probably consider you bonded and sees you as extremely valuable. The running in circles around your feet is classic courting-behaviour.

Welcome to BB! Sounds like you are off to a good start in bonding with your bunny. Like Bam said, watch out for hormonal behaviour, which will be coming soon.

Are you planning on having him neutered?
