So tonight I went and cleaned the cat’s litter box then cuddled with him a bit before dinner. When I came to give the buns their dinner, Blaze was on very high alert. Esther doesn’t seem at all different. Is the smell of the cat scaring him? He’s been around cats before, so I don’t think that’s it. I asked my family and nobody made any noises, and there were no noises from outside. My mom said maybe the blue moon? Is that a thing with rabbits? Like I said, Esther seems 100% normal. What do you guys think?

He’s still high alert and jumpy

Is there something going on with his health?

I don’t think that’s a thing in rabbits. Strange noises can definitely put a bunny on edge, especially if they are not used to hearing strange noises. Blaze is still pretty new to the household. So no trick-or-treaters outside? We’ve been hearing people outside all night.

No new sounds in the house (from what I can tell). Nope, no trick-or-treaters around here. We’re out in the country, on the highway road outside a little subdivision (if that makes any sense- lol sorry it’s almost midnight) so nobody bothers coming to us.

It very well could have been the cat smell, especially since he is so new in the house. We had a similar thing happen with Myra a few months ago. I left our cat bed near the entrance of their condo because I was moving things around and forgot to put it back, and she was SO spooked at everything . Moved the bed, and she was back to normal. It was very surprising because she doesn’t seem to mind the cat, but I think having that much cat scent near her home turf put her on edge.
