Ok, so my ultimate goal (don’t tell Dave) is to have all three of mine bonded and free-range. Like they’d have their cage set up so they can go back in when they like, and the majority of their stuff would still be in there, but I’d never have to close them in there. Our whole apartment minus the computer room is bunny-proofed (so that door stays closed).

I finally talked Dave into leaving Rupert out all night…We did it friday, saturday and last night. HE LOVED IT!! He’s sooo cute. He sleeps under the dresser in our room, but does get up to do stuff. And he’s super different already. He comes running up to us all the time now and is much less nervous. He still goes in his cage on his own and has no problem being in there during the day when we are out. But boy is he coming out of his shell exponentially now!! So cute!! Victory!!

that’s awesome. since Meadow is out all day (8-12 hours per day) i often leave the house while she is out, sometimes for 2 or 3 hours depending on what i need to do (doctor, errands, just playing at the park). solid bunny-proofing is invaluable. i’ve never left her out overnight, but that’s more due to my husband’s insecurity than anything Meadow does.

(this is another reason the clicker training is appealing to me, i want Mike to see that her behavior can be influenced in such a way…)

That is great news! I stopped locking Edson in his cage a few months ago. He’s fee range but will not leave the office under any circumstances! He just stands at the doorway and does not dare to cross the invisible line. I have tried putting him in the hall outside his room and he hauls back in the office flicking his feet at me all the way! It’s very funny.
