        Hello,

I am new to this and not sure if this is the right way to go about this, but my rabbit has recently started to lay on her side. she is only 10 weeks old and looks like she is sleeping! i am not sure if there is something wrong as she is on antibiotics at the moment! should i be concerned?  please help!

she has been to see the vet today and has also lost a lot of weight! i am concerned that this new sleeping habit may be her going down hill with her respiratory infection!

if anyone knows anything about this could you please let me know thanks!

Sleeping on the side is not a sign of illness in a bunny, especially not in a young bunny. They do that when they relax. It’s of course very concerning that a bunny as young as 10 weeks has lost weight, but the sleeping on the side is normal and something we like to see in our bunnies. It can look very scary though, it’s sometimes referred to as a “dead bunny flop”, because of how it looks.
