  So a few weeks after I got him, mars started to shake his head, run towards me and lick me right when I get home from school. He does this to all my other family members too. He never does when he’s walking or sitting still and never does it when he runs in the garden. I noticed he also does it when he’s running away from me i.e when it’s time to groom him or clip his nails. I’ve read about ear mites and I’m wondering if he has ear mites or he’s just happy.

  That’s excitement and happiness! Wick does this when I get home as well. The head shake is channeling the surge of energy that comes from recognizing your arrival, similar to a binky.
