When I go to pet Spaghetti, she alternates between growling and tooth purring. Is she saying stop or keep going? I want her to get used to being pet so I keep going but should I be stopping instead?

That’s a tricky one, cause I’ve heard tooth grinding that’s very similar to tooth purring. It may either be the tooth noises are positive and she’s conflicted between self-protecting and letting her guard down or  they’re negative-ish and she’s still annoyed by you. To be on the safe side I’d do very quick sessions of physical contact and then stay close/offer food. So that she doesn’t get too stimulated but still understands it’s safe to have you in her territory.

So 2 or 3 rubs, back off, wait a minute, 2 or 3 rubs, rinse and repeat?
