Hello everyone! I am new here and to owning a rabbit. About 3 months back I adopted a REW angora from my local animal shelter. Now recently I have been trying to decide whether or not to make my spare bedroom into a bunny room. She will have her 3×6 foot cage and all her favorite toys in there with her. The only problem with the room is it is windowless. However on the pro side it would get Winter out of direct sunlight since she seems to shy away from it anyway. Would it be a good idea to move her into her own room?

          Hello and welcome!!!

I’ve never met a bunny who didn’t like having their own room

Is there ever any natural light in there? That might be a problem, someone can chime in?

How old is she? Is she altered? Litter trained? I demand pics!! <3

There is light in the room when the doors are open but she is rarely in her cage because she has the run of the apartment. We dont know her age but she is still growing so I think she is under a year. She is altered and she has been perfect in her litter training except when she is mad at me. And no pics right now she is running around the room jumping so much I doubt I can even film it. She is a funny little bun.

Your bunny is adorable (if she is the bunny who is your avatar pic)  Bunnies love having lots of space to run around. Would she still get a lot of interaction with you? A nice way to make them feel connected and not alone is to put a baby gate in the doorway so they can watch what’s going on in the house and get better air flow rather than being shut up in a room all the time. My bunnies love laying next to the baby gate haha. She might mark her territory by pooping outside the box at first when she is moved to the new room but she should go back to her normal habits quickly.

Yes that is her from when we first adopted her. I was planning on putting baby gates in both doorways. Also she already is our little shadow the only thing that would change with her having her own room is that her cage will not be in the living room and she will have more room for more toys.

That sounds like a good plan, I’m sure she’ll love it
