Okay so sorry it’s been so long since i’ve visted binky. But I recently had my foot amputated and it’s causeing me some problems. Mostly it’s been harder to take care of my Huert. I can get into the floor but I’ve been forced to move into my parents house because of my needs or lack of mobility. I’m cleaning his cage regularly (side not Mom has 3 cats they haven’t bothered him they just stare at each other without any thumping or signs of nervous ness I’ll post some pictures of the cats and him) anyway he’s always used his litter box better then most, better then the other bunny that went with my ex boyfriend about 5 months ago. He’s started pooping in the corners, I move the litter pan to that corner and he starts to use the other one. no pee’s just poops. I’m not sure what he’s doing or why. I think maybe it’s marking his territory from the cats, although I’m not sure. Also I need some ideas for exercise for him I’m limited because I can’t get him up and the house is full of cord hazards, my parent’s aren’t going to be willing to change their house for my Huert, although I wish there was something I could do. But letting his lose he usually just runs under the bed. I have a harness and a collar for him and a “dog” leash that gets long, but you’ve gotta member I’m still on crutches as well as the fact I usually scoot on my butt after him because when he gets scared he runs to me. He also seems a little mad at me for not paying him as much attention I’m just wondering if there’s any bonding exercises I can do with little mobility. Thanks Binky!!!

          Hi,
First, I’m so sorry to hear things have been so difficult for you recently. You sound in good spirits, and I am wishing you the best recovery healing vibes I can send.
Two thoughts came to mind right away: An x-pen and clicker training. First, if you can be allowed a designated space the size of an x-pen, or two joined together althought that may be too many feet for your parents, then your bunny would have a much larger space to live in and be able to run around somewhat within that space. You could add some tunnels or platforms, so the bunny can run under but also jump up and down so he can get a workout. My new one is currently 4′ x 4′. Also, a cage can be secured to an x-pen attached to the opening to make the cage area bigger but not as large a combo as two x-pens would be.
The other thing is to clicker train your bunny to come to you. The respond very well to it, learn commands fast, and could even be trained to stop chewing on bad things if you watch and catch him at it. You can go online to the website, but I’d recommend the small book on the subject in BB’s store, a clicker is small and cheap, plus small treats or even pellets are all you need for training. If you don’t allow your bunny into forbidden zones like your bedroom (or the bed area) he will learn about what’s off limits. But with intensive clicker training he will come to you on command and you won’t need to chase or pick up. A command to go back into his house will be one of the easiest and most important to start with.

Healing vibes to you. I think RabbitPams has great ideas – the x-pen may make it easier on you to clean and give Huert more space too.
