Hi! My Holland Lop is about 5 months old, and I’ve noticed that whenever I leave an article of clothing on the floor and he’s roaming around my room, he will poop (a HUGE mound) onto my clothing. There was even an incident where I accidentally left my closet door open and he had gotten into my dirty clothes hamper (It’s a short basket) and pooped a very significant amount and even peed a little! Is there a reason why he is doing this? I had just gotten him fixed a few days ago, but the behavior is still happening. I have also noticed he only does this with clothes I have already worn and not clean clothes. He is normally pretty litter box trained and doesn’t poop anywhere else around my room. Any have this experience/know what’s going on?! Thank you!

Since he was only fixed a few days ago, he is likely still hormonal and is marking because your worn clothes smell strongly of you.

The behavior should get better over the next few weeks as his hormones settle. Bunnies will also often pee on soft things, and once they pick a toilet spot, it can be hard to break that habit. So the best thing for now will prob be to block access to your clothes hamper!

Completely agree with Dana! He’s marking your clothes because they smell strongly of you. It’s normal bunny behavior. Marking poops tends to be extra big and also glossy, they can smell pretty strongly, almost like onion.
