so i thought cookie was just marking kids room, looks like she hit puberty strong now because she is now doing it EVERYWHERE. I hate that i have kept her confined just to her cage now, I loved having her hang out with us through out entire house. I give her lots of playtime outside where she has become very comfortable/secure and has hours of binkys

My questions are this, does their poo smell like, fritos, doritos? i mean i dont know if she is scenting them with musk (females do this?) but her poo doesnt smell earthy/natural like it use to. Now even after i pick it up, i have this smell lingering in my nose and its like fritos LOL

Did i make a mistake by not getting her fixed before she started marking? I  mean will this behavior reverse once i get her fixed or has she now formed a habitual behavior that even after getting her fixed she will have the urge to mark those same spots, cause as of now she marks those same spots over and over (just poo mostly).

Sigh. I miss my infant non marking well trained bunny . She is so darn cute though, i just wish i could let her chilax in the family room but its this huge urge of hers and its the first thing she does. mark. mark and mark more. (snip snip happening this month for sure..6month old now).

I think the smell is normal, but watch for changes in the poos like really mushy or runny. May indicate something else is going on. Also, the cecals are very smelly, but she should be eating those.

I would get her appointment for being fixed asap. It all sounds normal, but it should be done so this marking behavior will stop. And it will.

Since she is so used to time out of the cage, please don’t confine her suddenly all the time. One option is to have a couple of litter boxes out in the rooms where you let her play. That way, if you see her start to go (wiggling butt) you can scoop her up into a litter pan and confine it to there. She will have the option, but still have her exercise play time. You can just clean out these boxes a bit, but leave some poos in there so she will be drawn to them to go, rather than indiscriminately around the rooms.

In most cases, marking decreases after surgery. There are, however, those buns that always do it, regardless. And unfortunately you don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s generally a good idea to spay/neuter sooner before these bad habits set in, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late. Get her in ASAP for her spay.

Oh my… We have the same problem! She is 6 months old now and marking with lots of poops wherever she is, whatever she’s doing. And pees in multiple spots.
Her poops smell different to me too. Before they didnt smell at all. Now it smells kinda bad… Almost like cecals but not that strong. And I searched for cecals but there arent any which means she is eating them.
                I sympathize big time
