Hi, my rabbit has a cage that is attached to a pen. I bought it right after getting my rabbit without doing a ton of research. (Bad on my part) The pen is about 2 3/4 feet high, but my rabbit has a big sense of adventure…he climbed…yes, climbed!!!…..up part of the pen and hopped out. Is there anything I can do to fix this without buying like a four foot pen? I tried putting bird netting over the pen and that sort of worked, but it is really inconvenient to give him food and pet him and sit in there with him, so I took it off. I can’t bunny proof the room or anywhere in the house at the moment so he can’t run free any suggestions??

Nope, you tried the covering route. I can’t think of any other solution beyond a higher pen !

Use a cover that you can remove easier. I use binder clips to attach a sheet over my pet since our Willow is quite the jumper. Binder clips are easy to remove and replace.

You can attach something like cardboard or coreflute/coroplast around the top inside rim of the pen. Because he’s climbing, and not jumping out, he needs be to able to get a hold of the bars. If you put about an 8 inch wide strip of cardboard along the top inside of each panel, he won’t be able to climb past that point. You could attach it with cable ties or sisal string.
