My bunny Cheese is two years old and normally uses his litterbox well, but last night he peed on my bed! And i thought, ok, just an accident. But this morning he peed there again, and i’ve been noticing some wet spots on the carpet as well– all in the same room. His litterbox is in this room, so i can’t understand why he doesn’t just hop on over there and use it. It doesn’t need cleaning yet, and i do see him using it sometimes, but he seems to like peeing on my bed more.

Does anyone know why this could be happening or how to stop it? I feel like all i do now is wash my bed :s

Peeing on the bed, it’s pretty normal – you need to discourage him from getting on the bed.

I would also wonder if he has a possible urinary tract infection if he is peeing elsewhere than the litterbox as well so if you haven’t had a vet check, you should do that first and make sure it’s not a medical issue first.

            I agree.
Also, for the pee scented areas now, especially the rug, wash the spot and surrounding area with a water/vinegar solution. That should neutralize the urine smell so he won’t think it’s a new litter place to go again.

He’s stopped peeing in random places, so I don’t know what it could be. He didn’t pee on the bed for almost two years and then twice in one night? I’ll try to keep him off the bed, but I think it’ll be hard since he hops up there in the night. Hm. In the meantime, I’ll wash the peed-on areas with water/vinegar! Thanks

The fact that he’s always had bed access and then just suddenly, he peed up does make me think it might be a UTI or something. When was his last health check?
