So – now that I have Coco’s poopy butt down to a minimum – she has started something new.

She is a foot licker. And I mean MY feet.

Every morning, she thoroughly licks my feet heel to toe.

At first I just thought it was love – I was away for three days and this started after I got back. She did a Binky when I walked into the room.

But now – every morning. The whole Foot – sometimes Both.

Am I just getting super bunny love – or is she missing some kind of salts from her diet since I cut out pellets and she is licking them off of my skin?

My bunny is quite the licker too. I thought maybe he was missing salts so I got him a salt lick from the petstore. He never licked that once.
I realized he licks pillows and blackets just as much as my skin so I think he is just really into grooming.
Maybe you could get your bun a salt lick and see if she is interested in it.

Bruno licks clothing too. I never knew what was up with it, but he wasn’t getting any lint (he only licks smooth things, like my silk covering on my pillow), so I didn’t worry about it.

Ooooh I have heard that salt licks are totally unnecessary for your buns if they are getting  proper nutrition. Salt licks are certainly not available out in the wild and I have heard they are not good at all for rabbits. I would be really careful about that.

If you are unsure of the healthiness of offering a salt lick, just try it for a short period of time. The bunny will tell you if she is needing salt. Animals will go for what their bodies are lacking.

Sounds like you have a super lovey-bunny!  Grooming is the ultimate in compliments, because it says “I’m treating you like another rabbit”.  Even licking the pillows and blankets is a compliment – it’s called “grooming by proxy”.  Instead of grooming you, he is grooming things that smell like you.  My Pepper is too cool to actually groom me directly, but licks my pillows and sheets instead.

I too have a licker!!!!  When I first got him he came w/ a salt lick.  I always replaced it & then my vet told me it was not good for bunnies.  Turns out he’s just a licker.  He actually has a little bunny head (not real) that is inserted into the grids next to his water bottle.  He licks it all the time.  He also has 2 stuffed bunnies inside his cage.  The only time he doesn’t lick is when he is angry or upset.  Else he will lick anything & everything….except his bunny girlfriend, Jessi.  I think it’s b/c she’s too demanding of the licks

Well that is sweet of Bunny to groom me by proxy! haha. He is the sweetest guy. He likes to lick my eyebrows! I don’t like that so much since my eyes turn red if a bunny hair get in it.

I wonder if I should get my bunny a stuffed bunny friend.. hmm. Maybe not since he in an uneutered male. He has neve..r eh hem, humped anything as of yet so maybe a fake bunny would make him randy?
