Bunny not the same since my pup passed away

It’s been a year since my pup passed away. He was a beautiful labrador. My bunny, Bailey, doesn’t like to play in the front yard anymore. Before he’d run around and do endless binkies while my old boy would follow him around and nudge his bum. Then he’d groom himself while my dog would lick his ears. Inside they’d both beg for Bunny pellets but other than that not much interaction. I don’t know why but now when I put the bunny outside he just runs inside or sits on the porch. He has his own room which he loves but only goes to a couple different spots in the house and just hangs out. He’s really mellow but it bums me out that he doesn’t play outside anymore. Since 7 months I’ve gotten a new dog. I spent 6 of those training him to be good with the bunny. I adopted him at one and a half years with a very high prey drive. He’s good now but I had to keep them separate at first. Bailey has zero fear of dogs and runs up to him. He is three now so maybe that has something to do with it. Do they mellow from age 2 to 3?

Bunnies can definitely melllow out as they get older. Is it possible that you are seeing him being mellow during normal bunny “down time?” Bunnies are crepuscular and it’s normal for them to spend a large part of the day lazy and sleeping. They are most active at dusk and dawn.
