        Hi,

My rabbit hasn’t eaten anything today (it is already 9pm) and seems very sluggish. She has stayed under the bed for the whole day and when I went to check on her, I saw that she was lying down with her mouth wide open and her teeth exposed. I’ve never seen her rest like that before and when I went to take a closer look, I realized that her bottom teeth look abnormally long compared to her front teeth. Does my bunny have dental problems and should I take her to the vet?

        Thanks

If a bun doesnt eat for 6-12 hours, I’d contact a vet. I’d start by giving simethicone baby gas drops, 0.5 -1 ml per hour for 2-3 hours. I”d also try to make the bun move around. Moving around can help gas escape.

The teeth are even in lengths and shape, I cant say if the lower incisors are too long, but they have a good color and shape. Overgrown incisors tend to be uneven. The upper teeth should go over (in front of) the lower teeth, and as far as I can see, your bun’s teeth do that.

Rabbits can have problems with their molars, but you cant see those without an otoscope.

Her incisors don’t look overgrown to me. At least not in this picture. If your bunny hasn’t eaten since you posted this, then she needs to see a vet ASAP.
