yesterday, after my darling husband took apart my vaccuum and pulled out about ten tons of hay and fur (whoops… did i do that?) i cleaned up the bunny room and i combined the xpens… sort of.  i didn’t want to remove any panels… just in case… so i pushed them together and stuck two panels of one behind the other and secured them behind with zipties.  so there is just one set of bars betw/ them now.  then i sat and watched them for about an hour to make sure they weren’t killing each other (so paranoid right?)  everything was fine… Meadow was presenting thru the bars.  Max flopped out with one foot sticking thru to her side and she sat and licked his foot.  so sweet.

these pics show how it is now, in the second pic you can see the double layer of panels.

well, i tell all of this to set the scene for my nightmare i had last night…

the doorbell rang and i go to answer it and it’s my mother and father-in-law (SHRIEK!)  they came to see my husband and were being really mean to me, so i left the room to go be with the bunnies.  i walk in and i notice in Meadow’s side she has about 5 whole carrots and 50 grapes.  Mike just gave her everything at one time!  so i freak out, not knowing how much she’s already eaten, i grab a garbage can and start scooping everything up as fast as i can.  i finish and go to Max’s side to check to see what’s in his cage… and i see BLOOD.  and fur.  i look for him and he’s huddled in the corner (i have a hard time even typing this) with no ears.  Meadow chewed off his ears to the very base.  i pick him up and cuddle him and i’m crying my eyes out…

and that’s when i woke up.

sigh… it was really scary.  they’re both fine tho and still grooming thru the bars.  it’s so strange how things just get into your mind…

                WOW!! what a NIGHTMARE!!

but usually, those dreams are trying to “tell” you something…[something coming up in the future]…OR…you are simply just so involved with the Bonding…process…

its a scary nightmare, tho…I’m glad, you woke up!!

                *hugs* 2you

                xx

Sounds like the stress of the bonding is really on your mind which is why you had that nightmare…I’m glad all is okay with you, Max and Meadow.

                        Scary nightmare.

Nicci makes a good point. Often your dreams are trying to tell you something – get you to pay attention to something you haven’t been attending to during your waking hours, even if it’s just your feelings. I’m guessing that you’re still too anxious about their bonding to have the cages so close they can touch. Maybe you need another inch or two between them before you feel secure about their getting along. I’m also wondering if you feel that the rest of the family is helping you out the right way with this. (Mike’s feeding them wrong.) You know, it’s funny but in a way you’re trying to marry Meadow and Max, and your dream says it’s not easy.

                          I’m thinking your in-laws have you so scared you’re afraid they’ll do to you what you thought Mead had done to Max! (tries to imagine Beka with no ears) 0_o;
All kidding aside, yeesh, I would’ve woken up screaming! I have dreams like that lots of times, but I notice it’s worse when I’m taking my sleeping pills. Now that I’ve leveled off the meds, I don’t have such nasty nightmares anymore and what ones I do have I can get out of easier. Imagine being trapped in those terrible images and not able to wake yourself up for what seems like an eternity! >_<

Yesh, I too think you are stressed about bonding bunnies. Considering I’ve given up on mine, I can understand the horror your subconscious is putting you through. You poor thing! (((((hugs for Beka and bunnies)))))))))

OH, what a scary dream, but the waking reality seems promising! She licked his foot – that’s a great sign! She could have easily given that foot a nasty bite if she was opposed to him completely.

Pam and Mimz! those are great points! Mike always overtreats them… so i usually go the opposite way and NEVER treat them… to make up for it, ya know. i think he tries to “buy their love” with food! i told him about the dream later on that day (after i posted on BB!) and he didn’t seem to really care. might’ve just been a guy thing tho.

as far as the pens being together… they’re doing fine. i’ve seen no fighting in between, no fur on the floor fom any tussles. i think since it happened THE NIGHT i combined the pens, it was just forefront in my mind. so far so good. plus, i did recently start taking my meds again (i’m awful with medication… i either don’t remember to take it, or i just don’t “feel like it”.) and i think a side effect i heard were bad dreams (how strange is that?) but anyways… thanks for your good thoughts everyone.

isn’t that strange about meds bunytowne?! i’ve never experienced that with any other meds i’ve taken but my ones for depression… which i should really not be hopping on and off of… whoops.
