My bunny, Daisy, nibbled a cord yesterday. It was a headphone cord that was plugged into my phone. She doesn’t usually chew things she’s not supposed to, so I didn’t think of moving my headphones off of my bed. She didn’t bite all the way through it, there was still one wire intact. She’s acting pretty normal but I’m still worried.

I’m sure she is perfectly fine. Buns have a taste for cords and usually the damage is more to the cord than the bun. The main concern would be electric shock but a headphone cord wouldn’t deliver a shock the way a power cord would, and in those cases you’d know right away if something was wrong.

A headphone cord connected to a phone is very low voltage. You’ll probably need new headphones though, even if she didnt bite all the way through.

Rabbits really like to snip thin cotds like headphone chords and phone charger cables. It doesnt hurt the bun, but it hurts the owner’s wallet.
